This little cup/planter was hand thrown and trimmed. This piece has a smooth/lightly textured surface and the foot has been wet sanded to a smooth, silky finish. Variations in the surface color are caused by placement in the fire and the organic materials that may have burned nearby. Firing in a pit does not bring the clay to a high enough temperature to vitrify, therefore, these pit fired items are not food safe and should be used for decorative purposes only.
